Building Eirene

Our Journey

Eirene New York didn’t happen overnight. Here’s how we built a brand from the ground up - one month, one step, one question at a time.
January 2025
Eirene began with a simple idea: to create an everyday bag that is both elegant and effortlessly functional. Inspired by the Greek Goddess of Peace, the name reflects our mission—designing pieces that bring a sense of calm, comfort, and ease to your daily life.
February 2025
This was the month we began sketching, and after countless iterations and back-and-forth ideas, we finally landed on the official tote bag design. We knew it needed a pocket on both the front and back, and an interior laptop sleeve was non-negotiable. At the same time, we wanted the bag to feel elevated, while still being something you could carry straight from work to dinner and still look effortlessly put together.
March 2025
With our sketches complete, we moved into the material-sourcing phase. Premium leather was always non-negotiable, but choosing the right one proved to be its own journey. Some features, like the structured pocket, demanded a leather strong enough to hold its shape yet refined enough to match our aesthetic. It took time, testing, and patience to find the material that felt truly worthy of the design.
April 2025
We knew we wanted to launch the tote bag in three staple colors, but we also felt inspired to introduce another handbag to the collection. We envisioned a chic piece that could effortlessly transition from day to night - one with a crossbody strap for convenience, yet refined enough to carry as a handheld bag. A design that elevates any outfit while remaining timeless and classy.
May 2025
This was the month we received our very first sample. Looking back now, it’s amazing to see how much the design has evolved. In the photo, you can tell the tote was much smaller than we envisioned. The curved shape made the measurements especially tricky, so it took several tries to get the proportions just right. After gathering a long list of notes from this first version, we moved on to our second round of samples.
June 2025
This was the month we received our second and third rounds of samples, and it was during this stage that we perfected the Siena Mini Purse. Crafted from beautiful cowhide leather, this bag is truly made to elevate any outfit. It turned out exactly as I had envisioned, and even though it’s a “mini” purse, it offers an impressive amount of space, with enough room for your phone, wallet, keys, makeup essentials, and more without ever feeling cramped.
July 2025
Perfecting the laptop sleeve was a priority. It needed to accommodate up to a 16-inch laptop with ease, allowing it to glide in and out smoothly, yet the bag itself couldn’t feel long or bulky. Considering all these details, we went through multiple additional samples before achieving the ideal balance.
August 2025
We received many samples this month, each one with small adjustments needed, which is completely normal for this stage of the process. But I wanted the bag to be perfect before moving into production. We refined every detail, from adjusting the straps so the tote sits beautifully on the shoulder to ensuring the front pocket was perfectly structured. Every tweak brought us closer to the final design.
September 2025
This month, we finally perfected our final sample. After so many rounds of testing, adjusting, and refining, we reached the version that felt right in every way. The fit, the shape, the pockets, the proportions all finally aligned. Introducing the final Fiora Tote Bag design.
October 2025
In October, we watched Eirene come to life. We conducted our first photoshoot, seeing the bags styled, worn, and captured in a way that truly reflected our vision.
November 2025
Our bulk production wrapped this month, and each piece was readied for its journey. A moment that signaled how close we were to sharing Eirene with the world.
